Saint Robert Police Chief and Officer Herr Recognized for Bravery

Curenton and Herr Receive Award from  American Police Hall of Fame.Police Chief Curtis Curenton and Officer Trenton Herr were awarded the silver star for bravery, a recognition from American Police Hall of Fame as well as certificates of appreciation and medals of honorCurenton and Herr Receive Award from  Rolla Mayor from Rolla Mayor Bill Jenks III and Rolla Police Chief Mark Kearse for their acts of bravery in the May 12, 2011 high-speed pursuit of Cody Wilcoxson. Curenton and Herr followed Wilcoxson's fleeing vehicle down Interstate 44, reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour while being shot at by an AK-47 rifle.



Three other St. Robert Police Officer received promotions. 

Promotoion CeremonyOfficer Phillip Meckam, Officer Ryan Hicks, and Officer Jennifer Hicks were promoted to the rank of corporal.

Officer Tyson Russell Awarded with the First Annual Wogan Award
On March 7, 2011, Retired Officer, Daniel Wogan presented Officer Tyson Russell with the First Annual Wogan Award.  Winners of the award are nominated by their peers. 

"This award is to be presented to the officer who most exemplified the spirit of Dan Wogan's commitment and pride to wearing the St. Robort Police uniform and his protection and service to the citizens of St. Robert for over 30 years," Chief Curtis Curenton said.   Officer Daniel Wogan retired from the St. Robert Police Department in 2010 after more than 30 years of service.

On April 18, 2011, City Council approved the final plat for the new St. Robert Landing project to extend access from Missouri Ave to J.H. Williamson Drive and Old Route 66.  [View Plat]

Ernest Tanner was sworn in as Municipal Judge
on March 7, 2011 to fill the unexpired term of the late Thomas Julian who passed away on January 17, 2011. 

City Council approved a lease agreement with the Veterans Commission to lease office space for a Veterans Affairs Counselor's Office to be located in the Municipal Center.  Moving into the community will provide veterans with greater access to thier office.

The 2010 Census Data shows St. Robert's population at 4340. Pulaski County population

City to Offer Paperless Billing to residents.  The new feature will hopefully be available beginning in April and will allow residents the ability to select to no longer receive a paper bill and instead receive an email notification that their bill is available online. 

City mourns the loss of Municipal Judge and former police chief, Thomas Julian who departed this life on January 17, 2011.  Judge Julian served his community as Chief of Police for the St. Robert Police Department from 1977 to 1999 and as the St. Robert Municipal Judge Robert from 2000 to the present.  He will be deeply missed.
